Our Ephmen came out strong again a rising Tufts Jumbo team, took a lead at 7 – 0 early in the first quarter, had the lead at 13 – 7 at the end of the first quarter, but relinquished the lead off 13 points in the 2nd quarter, were down 27 – 13 at the end of the 3rd, and just couldn’t overcome the Tufts defense despite making the score 27 – 20 in the 4th quarter with 5:22 left in the game.

Thoughts on Middlebury

Thoughts on Bates
| In a seesaw game in which 4 of 5 combined PAT’s were unsuccessful and the lead changed hands 4 times, Bates defeated a tough visiting Williams football team last Saturday 19 – 12 (after leading 13 – 12 at the half).  The game wasn’t decided until the final minute when a Williams drive that began on the Williams 40 with 2:17 left that potentially could have won or tied the game stalled on the Bates 31 yard line when the Ephs turned the ball over on downs with 53 seconds left.
