Dual-Threat Performance, McHugh Shines with 5 TDs
The Eph offense took a couple of series to get on track. Then the O-line dominated. The Ephs balanced attack devastated the Continentals, amassing 261 yards on the ground and 247 in the air. Sophomore QB Owen McHugh went 17 of 25 for 247 yards and 5 TDs with no sacks. Congratulations to Owen who was NESCAC Football Offensive Player of the Week.
O-Line Key to 212 Rushing Yards, Ensures Quarterback Safety
The Ephs’ offensive line was crucial to their second-quarter surge, effectively protecting quarterback McHugh. The line was dominant! They didn’t allow a single sack and were pivotal in establishing the running game. Coach Raymond commended their tough, physical play, which helped the team achieve an impressive 212 rushing yards, averaging 4.9 yards per carry.

Oris, Sheskey, and Fischetti led the ground game and presented a balanced rushing attack throughout the game. Junior Jon Oris led the team with 62 yards on 13 carries. Senior Will Sheskey finished with 44 yards on seven carries, and Mario Fischetti added 39 yards on eight carries.
Ephs’ Defensive Backs Excel, Limiting Hamilton to Mere 103 Passing Yards
The Ephs defense was dominant from the start, keeping Hamilton on their half of the field for the entire first half. Eph defenders held the Continentals to 229 total yards the whole game. Defensive backs blanketed the Hamilton receivers, allowing a mere 11 receptions on the day for 103 yards, with a longest of only 38.
Special Teams Shine: Perfect on PATs and Strong in Field Position Control
Special teams quietly played an excellent game. The Ephs went 6 of 6 on PATs and made crushing tackles on kickoff and punt returns. Sophomore punter Leonardo Maiuolo kicked 6 times for an impressive 43.5 yard average with 4 downed inside the Hamilton 20.
Ivan Shuran earned recognition as NESCAC Player of the Week Honor Roll. Ivan went a perfect 6-for-6 on PATs in the win over Hamilton. He also had seven kickoffs for a total of 406 yards, four touchbacks, and an average of 58.0 yards per kickoff.
